DIMINISHING SEQUENCE (2014)
Plywood, Paint
48” x 180” x 48” (122 x 457 x 122 cm)
An integration of light, space, and form, the geometric void within the frontmost frame is based on the outline of a cube extending into space. This piece explores the notion of transcendence, as flat two-dimensional planes are expanded into three dimensional space. An intensification of perception can be achieved through a reduction of content. As the shape within the frame diminishes in size and complexity, the artwork becomes a bridge which carries the viewers’ consciousness from one place to another.
