When observed through a telescope or microscope, the macrocosmic and microcosmic worlds both reveal something similar: a void with bits of matter suspended in it. Using an enlarged image from a drop of pond water, referencing the origins of all life on Earth.
Named after a Hebrew word for darkness, or the space between Heaven and Earth, imagery contained within the circular “oculus” was manipulated to become a cosmic mandala, a vehicle to consider our species past, present, and future.
