Passage is a multi-sensory installation which reflects on the notion of transition, a monument which meditates on the body passing through time. The physical form of the sculpture encourages the contemplation of spacial motion and temporality, as the angles of each plane gradually change to present a visual transition in physical form.
While it features precise and deliberate lines rippling throughout its multi-faceted surface, the sculpture emits a silent, yet inviting pulse, its sharp angularity contrasting the soft blue light radiating from within it.
Commemorating a particularly challenging period in my own life, Passage is a temple in which I might sit quietly and breathe, providing a momentary respite from the turbulent world outside, and within. It was born from my desire to merge with the Ineffable and Formless space which penetrates all things, a collapsing of matter and time into a singular experience which transcends both past and future, existing wholly in the present — a tangible fragment of time.
