STONE TRIAD (2015)
Relief print from stone (Ink, basalt, paper)
22”x30” (56 x 76 cm)
This series of prints emerged from the Endurance body of work, but is conceptually distinct. These prints meditate on the way in which land is formed and worn down over time. The composition is reminiscent of a triad of upright stones, or peaks in a mountain range, connecting the microscopic print with the macroscopic boulder or landmass from which basalt is extracted.
Each print is an artifact containing the complex story of the stone’s source, utility, destruction, and finally absence.
