VOYAGERS (2025)
20"D x 48"H x 70"W
Green basalt
Voyagers is a pair of green basalt sculptures formed on the North American continent and shaped in rural Hawai'i. Their surfaces and forms arise from a collaboration between the artist's hands and the primordial dreams of the Earth. Like each of us, they carry histories within their bodies: traces of fire, pressure, fracture, and erosion.
Within each stone is a circular void, a portal through which nature invites us to merge with it. By gazing into these ancient entities, one may glimpse eternity and contemplate the span of time held within, bridging past and future.
Over millions of years, these boulders traveled land and sea, evoking rhythms of human movement throughout history: migrations shaped by longing, exile forced by survival, the quiet persistence of the nomad, and the devotion of the pilgrim seeking truths older than language.
These stones remind us that home is not always a physical place. It can be a moment, a breath, a field of awareness where matter and spirit briefly align.
